How to Find Your Wi-Fi Password on Windows 11

Ever needed to share your Wi-Fi password with a friend but forgot it yourself? Windows saves it — here's how to find it

Method 1 — Using Settings

1. Press Windows + I to open Settings
2. Click Network & Internet
3. Click Wi-Fi
4. Click Manage known networks or select your connected network
5. Select the Wi-Fi network whose password you wanna know
6. Click show beside Wi-Fi network password at top
7. Confirm your identity if Windows asks you to
8. Your saved Wi-Fi password will appear on the screen or scan the qr shown

Note: This method only reveals passwords for Wi-Fi networks your PC has already connected to

Method 2 — Using Command Prompt

1. Press the Windows key and type cmd
2. Right-click Command Prompt → Run as administrator
3. Type the following command and press Enter :
   • netsh wlan show profiles
4. Find and copy the exact name of your Wi-Fi network
5. Type the following command:netsh wlan show profile name="Wi-Fi Name" key=clear• Replace Wi-Fi Name with your actual Wi-Fi network name
6. Press Enter
7. Look for Key Content under the Security settings section
8. The value next to Key Content is your saved Wi-Fi password

Note: The Command Prompt method can show passwords for saved Wi-Fi networks even if you are not currently connected to them

Compatibility note: The Settings steps above are specifically for Windows 11 and may look different or may not be available in the same form on Windows 10 or older versions. The Command Prompt method is generally more consistent across supported Windows versions.
